In order to keep your eyes healthy, you need to wear a pair of contact lenses that precisely correct your vision problem, an eye care expert has warned recently.
Patients often focus on the brand of contact lenses they use, but in fact, it is the power and type of contact lenses that affect comfort and visual acuity the most. According to Dr Ashley Reddell, an optometrist who writes for the Leavenworth Times, regular visits to an eye care practitioner (which should take place at least once a year) are essential, as they make it possible to keep contact lens prescriptions up to date, which – in turn – is necessary for appropriate vision correction.
In addition, eye care practitioners can find and diagnose any abnormalities that can appear in the eye, some of which are very dangerous. Moreover, an ophthalmologist or optometrist can quickly notice if a patient is suffering from some complications related to contact lens wear and that he or she should change the kind of contact lenses they wear or undergo treatment.
