The first silicone hydrogel daily toric contact lenses have been revealed by Sauflon. The new lenses, according to Optician Online, are to change the contact lens market forever.
Sauflon representatives state that the new lenses are the first daily silicone hydrogel ones designed specially for astigmatic patients.
During the presentation, which took place at Tower 42 in London, the company’s UK Sales Director, Bradley Wells, said that Souflon is extremely happy with the new product and proud that it is the first company in the world to manufacture silicone hydrogel daily toric contact lenses in spite of the fierce competition that is present on the market. According to Wells, the key to success is to make it possible for patients to wear contact lenses for longer periods, and the new lenses achieve just that.
He compared the contact lens market to the smartphone industry, saying that both of them are very competitive and require constant innovation to retain and find customers.
In addition, Sauflon’s technical director assured that the company is planning to launch more groundbreaking products soon.
