Circle Contact Lenses Still Gain Popularity Despite Warnings

Circle contact lenses (coloured contact lenses that are designed to make eyes appear larger) are still gaining popularity in spite of numerous warnings and the fact that it is still illegal to sell them.

In the US, as in most countries, contact lenses can only be sold by certified professionals and only after providing a prescription. Circle contact lenses, however, can be purchased on the Internet from foreign websites and they are not very expensive.

According to the manufacturers of such lenses, they are not more dangerous than conventional lenses as long as their users follow instructions. The Korea Food and Drug Administration approved them after the American FDA had decided against it and most circle lenses are exported from Korea.

The owners of online shops selling circle lenses assure that their products are safe (if properly maintained and well fitted) and authentic, but they do not require prescriptions from their customers.
Experts believe that the circle lens market will grow steadily and the manufacturers of such lenses will continue to seek the FDA’s approval.
