Though it seems that contact lenses users from different countries should take care of their lenses in the same way irrespective of where they live, the recent data provided by AC Nielsen MarketTrack suggest that there are significant differences.
The AC Nielsen MarketTrack report reveals that contact lens users in certain countries start to switch to lens care systems based on hydrogen peroxide. In the United States, for example, only 16% of contact lens wearers use hydrogen peroxide whereas across the border, in Canada, the proportion of contact lens users who prefer hydrogen peroxide products is almost twice as high (25%).
Most contact lens users in both countries, however, still prefer traditional lens care solutions.
When it comes to the brands of lens care solutions preferred by the citizens of the USA and Canada, the report revealed another substantial difference: over 25% of Americans buy generic brands whereas only 4.7% of Canadians do the same.
