The contact lenses manufacturer CooperVision has just announced the launch of a new member of the Biofinity® brand. The new lens is called Biofinity® Multifocal and was presented at the AOA conference in Salt Lake City.
As the company stated, the new lenses use the combination of Biofinity Asphere and Toric lens material with the Balanced Progressive™ Technology. During the conference, Richard Clompus, OD, VP, Global Professional Relations at CooperVision, declared that the company, while designing Biofinity® Multifocal, took the suggestions of eye care practitioners into account so that patients can enjoy the highest end-of-the-day comfort and vision quality.
During clinical trials, the new contact lenses outperformed other brands and were enthusiastically received by eye care professionals. At the moment they are available in sphere powers of +6.00 D to -8.00 D as well as four ADD powers. So far, Biofinity® Multifocal lenses are offered in the US and France, but CooperVision is planning to introduce them onto most markets in 2012.
