One year after the launch of Bausch + Lomb’s Biotrue™ multipurpose contact lens solution, the company published preference data concerning the product. According to these data, the solution was preferred by both patients and eye care practitioners. What is more, Biotrue satisfied the vast majority of its users (97% of those who have tried it were happy with it).
Mohinder Merchea, OD, PhD, MBA, FAAO, FBCLA, Bausch + Lomb’s Director of Medical Affairs - Vision Care, North America, stated that the solution was designed after studying the natural mechanisms occurring in the human eye in order to make wearing contact lenses as comfortable and carefree as possible.
The preference data come from a study carried out by Bausch + Lomb, during which Biotrue was compared with other leading lens care solutions. 81 per cent of those who participated in the study found Biotrue the most comfortable contact lens solution they had tried. In respondents who tried Biotrue and the leading solution, Bausch + Lomb’s product was preferred 3:1.
