Multifocal (or bifocal) contact lenses, according to an article recently published in the Mayo Advertiser, can solve the problems of individuals who have a refractive error in one eye or whose eyes need different levels of vision correction irrespective of their age.
The article asserts that such lenses are easily prescribed and fitted, which means that – due to radically improved vision – a person’s life can change for the better very quickly.
Multifocal lenses are usually recommended to patients with presbyopia (a progressively reduced ability to see near objects clearly, which most commonly begins when a person turns 40). All individuals suffering from the condition who can wear contact lenses could start wearing bifocal (or multifocal) contact lenses instead of bifocal glasses no matter how old they are.
Apart from all the benefits usually associated with wearing contact lenses, the article mentions the fact that multifocal contact lenses tend to be cheaper than multifocal glasses.
