The chief executive officer of Unilens, Michael Pecora, has announced that the company will concentrate on the specialty contact lenses market as a way of increasing its sales. In addition, Pecora said that Unilens (whose sales of custom contact lenses have increased by 34% recently) is also planning to put emphasis on specific demographics and emerging markets, which – according to the CEO – should allow the company to keep growing.
Unilens, preparing forecasts for the contact lens market, came to the conclusion that the specialty lens segment will continue to grow and provide considerable profits in the future because of the demographic trends identified in key markets.
Pecora added that the company’s new strategy also includes close cooperation with independent specialists (doctors and other eye care professionals) in order to prepare new strategies concerning marketing activities, aiming at improving patient retention and profit margins.
Unilens manufactures a wide variety of contact lenses, but is mostly known for its C-VUE brand lenses, which are multifocal lenses designed for presbyopic patients.
