Recognising the significance of the problem of the dry eye syndrome, Sjögrens Syndrome Foundation decided to hold a national conference during which various eye care experts will present the latest information regarding the problem and its treatment. The conference will take place at Ora Clinical Research Offices in Andover, Maryland on 25 June 2011.
Patients who will attend the conference will be able to get the newest data concerning their condition, its causes as well as different methods of dealing with it.
Those who wear contact lenses will be especially interested in the presentation given by Dr John Pietrantonio (Director of Eye Services at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and Adjunct Clinical faculty at the New England College of Optometry). The expert will discuss several issues connected with dry eye and contact lens wear, focusing on whether contact lens users suffering from dry eye should continue to wear their lenses and how to recognise that it is not harmful to their health.
