Research into contact lenses with built-in electronic devices, such as LED displays, has been going on for quite some time, and its preliminary results have been promising. As a result, there has been a great deal of speculations concerning the capabilities of such contact lenses. Recently, a well-known scientist has suggested that the future contact lenses will allow their users to surf the Internet without the need for any other device.
Dr Michio Kaku, a Japanese-American theoretical physicist and a popular author, revealed some ideas included in his newest book, Physics of the Future: How Science Will Change Daily Life by 2100. In his opinion, cars will be fully automated and require no involvement on the part of the driver, the ageing process will be stopped altogether and people will avail themselves of the benefits of the Internet just looking at what their contact lenses project before their eyes.
What is more, according to Dr Kaku, we will be able to identify people or objects just like in robots the science-fiction film The Terminator.
