It has just been announced that Bausch + Lomb and UltraVision CLPL have reached a global agreement concerning marketing and selling KeraSoft® soft contact lenses through the network of Bausch + Lomb lab channel partners.
The lenses use a patented technology relating to the production of custom-made contact lenses, whose trademark – under the agreement – Bausch + Lomb can now use for its own purposes.
Joseph Barr, O.D., M.S., F.A.A.O., vice president, Global Clinical & Medical Affairs and Professional -Services, Vision Care, Bausch + Lomb stated that this technology had transformed his views on treating patients with keratoconus and irregular corneas.
KeraSoft lenses, which received Queen's Award for Enterprise and Innovation, are manufactured individually for each patient. They combine the latest materials with revolutionary design technologies to offer both comfort and appropriate visual acuity. Distributing them through Bausch + Lomb channels will make it easier for many patients to purchase them and benefit from their unique characteristics. Both companies are extremely satisfied with the agreement and hope to continue cooperation in the future.
