Roll-out of Avaira® Toric Contact Lenses Announced by CooperVision

CooperVision has just announced the rollout of Avaira® Toric lenses in the US. The Avaira Toric, which is a silicone hydrogel lens designed for astigmatic patients, was launched in June, but its availability had to be restricted due to a high demand.

The new contact lenses is said to provide consistent performance in astigmatic patients irrespective of their prescriptions. Its unique design (improved positioning of the lens ballast, wettable material [enfilcon A], high water content, consistent horizontal thickness, smooth surface) results in remarkable stability, vision and comfort. The technology used to produce the lens (Aquaform® Comfort Science™) minimises dehydration and leads to all-day comfort without the need to use wetting agents.

CooperVision’s vice president of Marketing, the Americas, James Gardner, stated that Avaira Toric had performed extremely well in the market and that the company was satisfied with the fact that the product would now be available to a wide range of eye care specialists and therefore to a high number of patients.
