Preferred Look, a survey carried out by Bausch + Lomb, a global company producing contact lenses and related products, has revealed that more than a half of young people in India find coloured contact lenses to add glamour to a person’s appearance.
As girls Indian girls are becoming more interested in fashion, coloured contact lenses have become an important accessory, considerably affecting the look and – according to the survey – improving a person’s chances of being asked out on a date.
Another thing is that many youngsters want to have the same colour eyes as their idols, like Shilpa Shetty or Bipasha Basu, and use coloured contact lenses to achieve that.
As far as men are concerned, they also started wearing coloured contact lenses more often, but they usually choose natural shades. In contrast, women tend to experiment more and opt for bright colours. Nonetheless, when it comes to choosing the colour, personality seems to be the most important factor, with mild people going for basic colours and aggressive people preferring bright colours.
