Heidi Klum’s Halloween parties, organised every year, are famous for the extraordinary costumes that Klum and her guests wear. This year, however, the model’s shocked even those who expected something really extravagant.
She entered the party covered with a sheet, lying on an autopsy table pushed by two men dressed as doctors. The men lifted the sheet and revealed Klum looking like a skinless dead body. The outfit was complemented by rotten teeth and red coloured contact lenses, which made her eyes look really spooky. Throughout the day, Klum posted photos showing the progress of her costume on Twitter. The make-up process was extremely elaborate and time-consuming, but Klum stated she did not mind it, because she loves the holiday and her costumes.
They, however, sometimes cause a lot of controversy. In 2008, for instance, she came dressed as the Hindu goddess Kali, which was criticised by some Hindu leaders, who felt offended and demanded an apology.
Last year, Klum wore a Transformers costume with hydraulic crane shoes and coloured contact lenses making her look like a machine.

Last year, a record number of people decided to buy coloured contact lenses and make them a part of their Halloween costumes. This year, experts in the field believe, the upward trend will continue and even more people will put on crazy coloured contacts to look like their favourite horror characters.
Just like last year, vampires should be the most popular creatures at Halloween parties, mostly because of the success of the Twilight films (the first part of the last instalment of the saga, Twilight: Breaking Dawn, will premiere on 16th November and is sure to increase interest in vampire coloured contact lenses even more). However, many people will choose the zombie look, since the success of The Walking Dead has also been immense.
Of course, the popularity of coloured contact lenses also means that there have been numerous warnings regarding the safety of such lenses. However, if purchased them from a legally operating shop and used in accordance with instructions, they are perfectly safe and should complement Halloween costumes wonderfully.

Josh Hamilton, a batter playing for the Texas Rangers, has significantly improved his performance since he started to wear special contact lenses during his games.
In June, he complained to the media that he had problems seeing the ball during day-time matches due to the colour of his eyes. He consulted an optometrist, who supported his claim and fitted him with contact lenses, which led to astonishing results.
According to the latest statistics, Hamilton’s day-time batting average increased from 0.122 to 0.423 (during night games, it was 0.374). The improvement also means that his season average has risen to 0.300, and it is predicted to go up even more. Baseball experts believe that Josh Hamilton’s team should benefit considerably from this change in his performance, especially if the Texas Rangers have to play several day games during the American League Division Series, which is the first round of Major League Baseball's postseason.

Recently, Brad Pitt has given an interview which allowed him to look back on his long and extremely successful film career.
One of the roles that made him an international film star was the part of Louis de Pointe du Lac in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, based on a novel written by Anne Rice. To play a vampire, he had to wear coloured contact lenses, which – in 1994, when the film was produced – were not as comfortable as they are today. Consequently, Pitt complained that the makeup (of which the lenses constituted a major part) was the worst thing about filming the box-office hit.
However, thinking about how Inteview with the Vampire changed his career, the actor is quite happy that he managed to finish filming it.
At the moment, Pitt is promoting his latest picture, Moneyball, which premiered in the US on 23rd September and has been widely praised by film critics around the world.

The Paris Hilton brand currently includes clothes and perfume, but it may soon also include contact lenses and some other vision correction products.
Beanstalk, a global brand licensing agency, has made arrangements with OEM to develop a line of contact lenses, sunglasses and eye glasses frames, which will be sold under the brand. According to Beanstalk’s international managing director, Ciaran Coyle, the products will be sold in Asia first.
Coyle also stated that OEM is a major player on the Asian eyewear market and successfully developed vision correction products for a number of global companies. In addition, Coyle believes that OEM understands Paris Hilton’s unique design sense, so the new lines of contact lenses and glasses will be must-have products for all fashion-conscious individuals in Asia next year.
Paris Hilton is a great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. Apart from promoting her brand, she plays in films, sings and works as a model.
